The second shortlisted nominee for IWSC Wine Communicator of the Year 2019, sponsored by Vinitaly, is wine writer Elaine Chukan Brown.
Elaine Chukan Brown is the American wine specialist at jancisrobinson.com and a contributing writer with Wine & Spirits Magazine. She speaks on wine at events worldwide alongside running Hawk Wakawaka Wine Reviews, which has been rated among the world’s leading wine blogs.
Her influence can be seen through her contributions to the recent multi-award-winning fourth edition of the Oxford Companion to Wine, the Lonely Planet Wine Trails: United States & Canada, and the upcoming eighthedition of the World Atlas of Wine.
Brown has led seminars in China, New Zealand, Germany, Canada, and throughout the United States and has been a celebrated guest at leading talks about wine around the world, including the Women in Wine Leadership Symposium, Pinot Noir NZ, Texsom, and ProWein.
“Winning Wine Communicator of the Year would give me an even greater opportunity to serve the world of wine by reaching an even wider audience,” Brown said.
“Being recognised by the IWSC with such an honour could mean even greater opportunities to speak to interested audiences worldwide.”
Judges said, “Elaine’s quite extraordinary background and extensive education clearly informs her fascinating take on wine. She has an impressive global reach.”
The IWSC Wine Communicator of the Year 2019 will be announced at the Vinitaly Gala Dinner on 6 April in Verona.
