IWSC Top 50 Producer lists

Discover the IWSC Top 50 Producers of the year

Celebrating the world’s most successful wine and spirit makers

Launched in 2025, the IWSC Top 50 Producers initiative celebrates the exceptional achievements of wine and spirit makers across the globe. More than a ranking, it recognises the producers whose craftsmanship, consistency, and innovation have earned them distinction across IWSC judging. These are the names setting benchmarks for quality and shaping the future of drinks production worldwide.

The Methodology

The IWSC is the world’s most established drinks competition, renowned for its rigorous judging and commitment to recognising excellence across wine and spirits. Building on more than five decades of celebrating quality and innovation, we are proud to introduce the IWSC Top 50 - a new initiative recognising producers who exemplify consistent excellence year after year.

Launched in 2024, the IWSC Top 50 provides a data-driven assessment of producers who perform at the highest level across multiple categories and vintages. Each producer featured represents the pinnacle of achievement within the IWSC community - those whose quality, craftsmanship, and innovation continue to shape the global drinks landscape.

Our inaugural Top 50 results will be revealed at the IWSC Awards Celebration on 12 November 2025, with full results published on Club Oenologique.

How the Top 50 is Determined

The IWSC Top 50 is compiled using three years of competition results, reflecting producers’ sustained performance across our rigorous judging programme. Every entry - from Gold Outstanding to no medal - contributes to the overall picture of consistency and quality.

To ensure the rankings recognise current success, greater weighting is given to medals achieved in the most recent competition year, while small penalties are applied to entries that receive no medal. This balanced approach rewards producers who not only achieve excellence but maintain it over time.

By combining detailed results data with IWSC’s trusted judging standards, the Top 50 provides an objective, transparent, and credible benchmark for identifying the most accomplished wine and spirit producers in the world.

2025 Results & Champions Announced

The inaugural IWSC Top 50 lists were revealed at the IWSC Awards Celebration on 12 November 2025, celebrating producers whose quality, consistency, and innovation set them apart within the global drinks industry.

Leading this year’s rankings, William Grant & Sons has been named IWSC Champion Spirits Producer 2025, while D’Olivieras has been awarded the title of IWSC Champion Wine Producer 2025 - both recognised for their outstanding performance across multiple categories and their enduring commitment to excellence. Building on a tradition that began with the IWSC President award in 1976 and evolved into the IWSC Industry Champion, the Champion Wine Producer and Champion Spirits Producer titles mark the next chapter in recognising industry leadership. They honour producers whose consistency, innovation and influence set benchmarks across the global drinks landscape.

Former Industry Champions & Presidents

Our Champion Wine Producer and Champion Spirits Producer awards are a part of a tradition that began in 1976 when Sir Humphrey Edwardes Jones was named as the first IWSC President. Every year since then, the IWSC has named a particularly influential figure from the wine and spirits industries as it's President. In 2023, reflecting the new brand direction of the IWSC, this title was rebranded as our Industry Champion.

As part of our introduction of the IWSC Top 50 Wine Producers and Top 50 Spirits Producers in 2025, and in the spirit of both the President and Industry Champion, we created our Champion Wine Producer, and Champion Spirits Producer awards to crown the number one producer on each list.
