The IWSC is delighted to return to Conegliano Valdobbiadene, one of Italy’s most prestigious sparkling wine regions, for its third Global Judging event of 2025.

Celebrating Conegliano Valdobbiadene’s Sparkling Wine Heritage
After a three-year hiatus, the IWSC will once again partner with the Consorzio of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco to assess the region’s best wines. Led by Sarah Abbott MW, an expert panel of international wine judges will evaluate entries in situ, providing producers with direct access to world-class judges and invaluable exposure.

Judging wines in Conegliano Valdobbiadene offers a unique advantage—judges gain a deeper understanding of the region, its winemaking traditions, and terroir, ensuring the most insightful and expert assessments.

A Special Return
IWSC CEO Christelle Guibert expressed her enthusiasm for the event: "I am looking forward to returning to Conegliano Valdobbiadene this March with our team. This region holds special significance for the IWSC, as it was the first location to host our Global Judging event in 2022. We greatly value our ongoing partnership with the Consorzio."

World-Class Judging Panel
Sarah Abbott MW will be joined by top UK-based judges, including:
Sarah Abbott MW commented: “Bringing our judges to Conegliano Valdobbiadene expands their awareness and understanding of premium Prosecco Superiore. Judging in situ makes the competition even more accessible to a wider range of producers, as they can take advantage of convenient and cost-efficient local sample delivery. While the general ‘prosecco’ category is well established, the sales and appreciation of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG category is comparatively recent, and still growing.”
