Global Judging

Global Judging

As part of our Global Judging, each year, the IWSC takes its experts to wine regions around the world, collaborating with local experts to judge wines 'in situ'.

By creating this opportunity, producers from selected regions are able to benefit from the expertise and influence of the IWSC, without having to transport wines to the UK.

Each year, new locations will be selected and these regions will vary from year to year. Please review this page before entering your wines into our awards, as new regions may be announced at short notice.

In 2024, the IWSC took its Global Judging to so many exciting wine regions. Our international judges were immersed in the culture and wine scenes through judging alongside local judges and lots of vineyard visits. The countries included in our 2024 Global Judging were Georgia, Austria, TurkeySouth Africa, Australia, China, USA.

We are delighted to announce the first location we will be taking our Global Judging in 2025 - we will be returning to Georgia to judge Georgian wines and spirits.

You can discover further information on where to send your wines and judging dates below. Good luck!

"This trip has increased my understanding and knowledge of South African wine. This immersion in the wines of the country, through producer and vineyard visits, deepens all of our understanding in a way that tasting and judging blind in a room in London can never achieve. I think it encourages us to judge each wine as an individual and think about it in its context."
