Billy Abbott is a writer and educator specialising in whisky and fine spirits. Formerly a computer programmer in the finance industry, in 2011 he swapped code for actual words and started work for The Whisky Exchange as a writer. Over time his role has developed and he is now head of training for the Speciality Drinks Group, as well as a writer across the entire group of companies, including for The Whisky Exchange blog  He is also a freelance writer, educator and host, conducting tastings both in person and virtually around the world.
