Oscar Perry announced as IWSC's 2024 Emerging Talent in Bartending winner

Following last week’s announcement of our 2024 shortlist for our Emerging Talent in Bartending award, sponsored by William Grant & Sons, we are delighted to reveal that our winner is Oscar Perry.

Oscar is the Bartender at Murder Inc in Soho, London. Our judges were so impressed by how much Oscar has been able to achieve in just a short few years in the bartending industry. His deep passion for the industry, thirst for knowledge and sheer ambition made him our worthy winner.

Applicants for this award were asked to submit a video of them creating their signature cocktail serve. Oscar’s video really stood out to our judges. He was very polished and confident in his delivery, but still showed his authenticity. He also explained the nuances to his chosen cocktail in an easily digestible manner, for a consumer, and also demonstrated his knowledge for current trends through the personal touches he added to his drink.

The judges praised Oscar’s desire to want to help others within the industry. Through his work with The Drinks Trust, Oscar is striving to help improve the quality of life for others within the trade. Our judges believe winning this award will offer Oscar a new platform to reach out and continue to help others within the industry.

Oscar hopes to use his travel bursary to continue his quest for gaining even more knowledge. By meeting the greats from the international bar scene and “learning from the best”, in the hope of imparting his new acquired knowledge with others.

We are delighted to present Oscar as our winner of the 2024 Emerging Talent in Bartending award, a candidate who left our judges only wanting to do one thing, “pull up a seat at his bar”.
