Simonsig Mr Borio's Shiraz 2011

Gold 2013

Tasting Note

" Opaque with grainy, purple rim. Deep, dark, dense and brooding nose. Slowly builds momentum, then blossoms out with dark ripe berries, herbs and cherry. Hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Big floral backing where lavender features strongly. Layers of deep flavours follow the nose. Despite being velvet smooth there is a strong personality waiting to develop. Complex characters unfold with great elegance and balance. Some peppery notes and a bit of fynbos and more complexity. Finely etched tannins. Oak is hardly discernible but it has done its job. Long, well sustained finish. Enjoy now and over next ten, twelve or more years. Great wine. "
