Hotel Bar, Allegory / Soul Palate podcast
Spirits Educator / Bartender
Kapri Robinson is not just DC's 2017 Cocktail Queen; she's a force to be reckoned with in the world of mixology. As a bartender, educator, and event organizer, Kapri wears many hats. However, she shines brightest as the president and founder of Chocolate City's Best (CCB), an organization dedicated to connecting Black and Brown bar industry members with community, mentorship, education, and career growth opportunities.
Kapri's expertise and influence extend far beyond the bar. She's graced television screens on shows like Great Day Washington and Good Morning Washington and made history as one of twelve first-ever Drink Masters on Netflix. Her talents have also caught the attention of prominent media outlets such as PUNCH, Eater, Forbes, and the Washington Post, solidifying her status as a trailblazer in the industry.
With a WSET Level 3 Spirits graduate under her belt, Kapri is not just mixing drinks; she's shaping minds. She leads seminars on hospitality, empowerment, cocktail knowledge, and spirit history/education on national and global stages, including renowned conferences like Tales of The Cocktail and Bar Convent Brooklyn.
In 2021, Kapri's contributions were recognized when she was chosen as one of Eater's New Guard, highlighting her role as a leader challenging conventions and creating positive change in the industry. Her accolades continue to grow, with nominations as a top 10 bartender in the nation by the Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards and as a top 4 bartender in 2023.
Kapri's impact is not just theoretical; it's tangible. She co-created cocktail menus for some of North America's best bars, including Allegory, which won the 2023 North America's 50 Best Bar award for Best Cocktail Menu. As a co-host of the Soul Palate Podcast, she's dedicated to normalizing Black and Brown palates and creating opportunities for industry members like herself.
In every endeavor, Kapri Robinson embodies excellence, innovation, and a commitment to uplifting her community in the world of cocktails and spirits.
