We’re delighted to award Bimmerle Private Distillery (Germany) the IWSC 2024 Fruit Spirit Producer Trophy.Bimmerle Private Distillery, a renowned name in the world of fruit brandies, has been delighting palates for nearly six decades. Nestled in the picturesque Black Forest region of Germany, the distillery has cultivated a rich heritage of distillation, focusing on the meticulous crafting of fruit spirits. With a commitment to quality and sustainability, Bimmerle combines traditional methods with modern innovation, creating unique and character-driven products like the classic LÖRCH fruit brandy.
At the heart of Bimmerle's mission lies the dedication to regional sourcing and environmental responsibility. The company proudly utilises local fruit varieties and implements sustainable production practices, including a self-sufficient distillery that covers its energy needs through regional biomass. Bimmerle's commitment to sustainability is further underscored by its climate neutrality certification and organic accreditation, received annually since 2019. The recent relaunch of their LÖRCH brand, which features redesigned packaging and reformulated recipes, showcases Bimmerle’s continuous evolution and engagement with contemporary market trends. This year, the distillery has garnered significant accolades, culminating in their recognition as the recipient of the prestigious Fruit Spirits Producer Trophy at the 2024 IWSC.
Bimmerle Private Distillery stood out among its peers for its bold approach to reformulating its traditional offerings. The judges praised the company for its commitment to quality, innovation, and advocacy for fruit brandy. As highlighted by one judge, "They're relaunched, redesigned and reformulated their fruit brandy, and it's gone really well, and that's gone on to win medals. For me, they’re worthy winners on two parts: one from a liquid perspective, and from having dared to reformulate and done it really well, and secondly for just flying the flag super high for fruit brandy."
The distillery’s achievements in 2024 underscore its leadership in the industry, particularly with the successful revitalisation of the LÖRCH brand. Bimmerle has effectively raised consumer awareness about the distinctions between fruit brandies and schnapps, reinforcing the importance of the Black Forest’s rigorous production standards. The upcoming launch of their wood-aged fruit brandies is set to further enhance their reputation and engagement within the spirits community.
Winning the Fruit Spirits Producer Trophy not only recognises their exemplary products but also positions Bimmerle as a beacon of innovation and quality in the realm of fruit spirits.
Congratulations to Bimmerle Private Distillery.
