Whiskey Historian

Caroline Paulus is a distinguished figure in the world of whiskey, serving as the whiskey historian at Justins’ House of Bourbon and holding the position of senior editor at The Bourbon Review Magazine. Originally trained as an archaeologist, Caroline's fascination with history and culture took a serendipitous turn towards bourbon after relocating to Kentucky in 2014.

Her journey into the realm of bourbon reached new heights in 2017 when she crossed paths with Justin Sloan and Justin Thompson, the founders of The Bourbon Review magazine. Caroline's expertise and passion for bourbon quickly caught their attention, leading to her role as a contributing writer for the esteemed publication.

In 2018, Caroline became an integral part of the team at House of Bourbon, where she was among the first employees hired to oversee the curation and research of their unparalleled vintage whiskey collection, which stands as the largest for sale worldwide. Her responsibilities extend beyond curating whiskey, as she leads private tastings, manages tasting notes for single barrel picks, and strives to cultivate a profound appreciation for bourbon among every guest who enters the establishment.

Caroline Paulus's dedication to preserving the legacy and heritage of bourbon, combined with her commitment to sharing her knowledge with others, makes her a valued asset to both Justins’ House of Bourbon and The Bourbon Review Magazine. Her contributions continue to shape and enrich the whiskey community, ensuring that the spirit's storied past remains alive and celebrated for generations to come.
