Leah van Deventer is a world-renowned cocktails-and-spirits writer, WSET Level 3 qualified educator and industry consultant, in both 2022 and 2023 having been voted among the 100 most influential figures in the global bar industry in Drinks International’s Bar World 100.
Additionally, she’s been named Bar Communicator of the Year three times in her home country of South Africa, and shortlisted for the IWSC 2024 Spirits Communicator Trophy.
Leah judges cocktails, spirits and bars professionally, including being an Academy Chair for the World’s 50 Best Bars, Head Judge for the Bar & Beverage Awards and Committee Member for Tales of the Cocktail. She's judged numerous blind-spirits competitions to date, and 2024 sees her join the IWSC's panel.
