Chris is a past president of Sommeliers Australia, Treasurer and sub-committee chair for education, where he established and tutored the Sommeliers Australia education program.

Chris is a previous winner of negotiant Working with Wine fellowship, Len Evans Tutorial Scholar in 2005, and a certified sommelier through the Court of master sommeliers (UK and USA).

He is also a senior judge at various regional and capital wine shows and is the outgoing chair of the Yarra Valley Wine Show & James Halliday Chardonnay and Cabernet Challenge.
