Head of Brand Homes and Ambassadors

Ludo joined the Scotch whisky industry with a fresh university degree in 2000. His early years were spent in Dufftown, the self-proclaimed malt whisky capital, where he worked as a distillery visitor centre tour guide and subsequently team leader.

He started travelling the world in 2004 when he took the position of Global Ambassador for Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky and discovered further markets from 2009 when he joined the blended whisky team as Global Ambassador for Grant’s whisky.

As an ambassador, Ludo travelled to over 50 countries and his contribution to Scotch whisky was recognised in 2012 when he was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich.

In 2013, Ludo was promoted to lead William Grant & Sons’ ambassador programme as Global Head of Advocacy. Over 5 years, Ludo grew the team to over 100 ambassadors across the company’s portfolio of gin, rum, Irish, American and Scotch whisk(e)y brands.

After 18 years with the Scottish distiller, he moved to Glenmorangie and Ardbeg as Global Director of Education and Advocacy where he spent 3 years leading the agenda on advocacy, brand ambassadors and education initiatives.

In 2022, Ludo joined Whyte and Mackay to manage the Brand Homes and Ambassador team. He is responsible for all visitor experiences at Fettercairn, Jura, Tamnavulin and The Dalmore distilleries as well as the company’s international network of ambassadors.

Furthermore, Ludo has been sitting on the Board of Education of the European Bartender School since 2017, assisting the global leader in bartender training with all whisky-related elements.
He holds various industry qualifications such as a General Certificate in Distilling and the Wine and Spirit Education Trust’s Level 3 in Spirits.

Ludo lives in Speyside, Scotland with his wife and 2 children.
