Eric Zwiebel MS has been the head sommelier at Summer Lodge Hotel since July 2004.
Born in Alsace, he began his wine career early, helping his parents in their restaurant before working as a sommelier in Paris for five years.
He moved to England in 1997 to broaden his knowledge of the many different wine regions, and to study with the Court of Master Sommeliers. In 2001, Zwiebel achieved his MS qualification. In 2004, he was awarded Best Sommelier of the UK, and in 2018 he passed the ASI Certificate Gold Diploma as the only platinum level holder of the certification worldwide.
