At the IWSC Awards Celebration, Anne Krebiehl MW was announced as the winner of the 2024 Wine Communicator Trophy.
This year’s shortlist included some of the leading names in the world of wine communications: Amanda Barnes, Agustina de Alba,Essi Avellan MW, Tom Surgey, as well as Anne Krebiehl MW. After a heated debate, our international judges agreed to award Anne as the 2024 Wine Communicator Trophy winner.
An incredibly talented and passionate communicator, Anne has been working hard to advocate the wines of her native Germany, as well as Austria and Alsace, inspiring many people along the way. “Anne is a natural storyteller; there is a sensual kind of joy that comes across in her communications,” said our judges. Our experts admired Anne’s resilience: despite some difficult times at the beginning of her career as a freelance writer she did not give up and followed her passion for wine communication.
This past year has brought well-deserved international recognition for Anne. In January 2023 she joined Vinous Media as the editor for Germany, Austria, and Alsace. Anne has also written numerous articles for the world’s leading wine publications, as well as giving the keynote speech at the Pinot Noir Celebration in the Mornington Peninsula in February.
Anne also recently appeared in Wine Masters documentaries sharing her invaluable insight on German and Austrian wine regions. The judges described Anne Krebiehl as a well-rounded communicator who comes across all different channels and is a real role model in the industry.
Congratulations to Anne and thank you to Wine Communicator Trophy sponsor, Vinitaly.
