With the increasing diversification of consumer drinking habits, this year the IWSC is adding two new categories to its Spirit & Mixer Awards, sponsored by Double Dutch.

For the first time, our Gin & Tonic and Vodka & Tonic awards will be complemented by a Whisky Highball and Tequila & Tonic award category. For each category, the judging panel will be looking for the perfect match of spirits with Double Dutch Indian Tonic Water or Soda Water.

All producers entering a gin, vodka, tequila, or whisky into the IWSC Spirit Awards, are offered the chance to submit their product into the Spirit & Mixer Awards. The deadline for entry is 24 January.

Judging of the 2022 Spirit & Mixer Awards will commence July and the IWSC is delighted to announce its specially selected judging panel will be headed by Shannon Tebay.

Shannon is the Head Bartender at The Savoy’s The American Bar. Her appointment was announced last summer after which she moved over from her native New York to take up her new role in one of London’s most renowned bars.

The IWSC looks forward to sharing more information on Shannon’s appointment and further details of its Mixer Awards winners in the coming weeks but before then, a reminder of last year’s Gin & Tonic and Vodka & Tonic trophy winners and the feedback from the judges:

Gin & Tonic Trophy

Awarded to Kalas Rabarber Gin, Destilleriet paired with Double Dutch Indian Tonic Water

“Floral, sherbety and tangy nose. On the palate rhubarb, pepper and orange and tart finish. "

Vodka & Tonic Trophy
