The IWSC Open Nominations for Communicator of the Year Award 2015 Sponsored by Vinitaly   Today (28th January 2015) sees the launch of the International Wine & Spirit Competition’s (IWSC) quest to find the drinks industry's ‘Communicator of the Year’.   The award, sponsored by Vinitaly was created to highlight an individual who demonstrates exceptional contribution to increasing awareness of wine and spirits. Last year the prestigious award was won by wine writer and presenter, Jane Parkinson. Previous trophy winners have included Dave Broom, Jancis Robinson MW, Olly Smith, Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin MW.   The IWSC are asking for the public to nominate candidates for the award. The final shortlist will be revealed at the end of February and will be judged by a panel of industry experts. The results are to be announced at Vinitaly’s opening Gala Dinner in Verona, Italy on Saturday 21st March.   The IWSC’s General Manager, Ewan Lacey, said: “While the IWSC is known around the world for awarding medals to the best wines and spirits, we also know how important the people in the industry are with their knowledge and dedication. Its aim is to promote the quality and excellence of the world's best wines, spirits and liqueurs. All entries are blind tasted in groups divided by variety, region and vintage as necessary. ·         The IWSC has partnered with Wines Direct to promote its top 2014 award winning wines. The price comparison website will allow consumers to search for medal winners by country, variety, colour, region, or retailer.
