45th VINITALY OPENS TOMORROW INAUGURATION WITH MINISTER SAVERIO ROMANO.

 
The President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, the Minister for the Cultural Heritage Giancarlo Galan, the Mayor of Verona Flavio Tosi, The President of the Province of Verona Giovanni Miozzi and the President of ICE Umberto Vattani all in attendance.
 
Verona, 6 April 2011. Tomorrow, 7 April, welcomes the 45th Vinitaly, the most important International Wine and Spirits Exhibition. The leading sector exhibition will be inaugurated at 10.30 by the Minister for Agricultural Policies, Saverio Romano, on his first official engagement following his recent appointment. The President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia, the Minister for the Cultural Heritage Giancarlo Galan, the Mayor of Verona Flavio Tosi, The President of the Province of Verona Giovanni Miozzi and the President of ICE Umberto Vattani in attendance joined by the top management of Veronafiere.
 
After the Inaugural Ceremony (Verdi Auditorium, 10.45), Minister Romano with join Governor Zaia for the inauguration of the Veneto Hall, and will then visit the stands at Vinitaly. Minister Romano will meet journalists at 14.30 in the Vinitaly press hall (2nd floor, PalaExpo). Official visits over the five days of the event should also include the President of the Senate Agriculture Commission, Paolo Scarpa Bonazza Buora (Friday 8 April, 11.45), the Vice-President of the European Commission for Industry and Enterprise, Antonio Tajani (Saturday 9 April) and the Minister for the Implementation of Government Programmes, Gianfranco Rotondi (Monday 11 April, 12.00).
 
The 45th Vinitaly has set a new record for exhibitors: more than 4000 from 23 countries have fully booked the Exhibition Centre and its 95 thousand square metres of exhibition area. These figures on the eve of the show confirm the positive atmosphere among companies and international operators arriving in Verona, among other things. Vinitaly, in short, will also be the "test bench" for the apparent recovery on the market, especially as regards exports, already announced by all sector observers. Vinitaly spotlights major current topics: from the fall in domestic consumption to the reasons for the boom in exports, through to analysis of the major potential evident in Asia.
