We are delighted to award Portofino Dry Gin La Penisola the IWSC 2024 London Dry Gin Producer Trophy, sponsored by The Gin Guild.

Earlier this year we announced our new London Dry Gin Producer Trophy. While being tasted alongside other traditional, juniper-forward gins at our judging, London Dry remains an important, stand-alone type of gin for the IWSC as we acknowledge its rich heritage, its authenticity and its unique place in the international market. As part of our continuous commitment to championing the best London Dry producers, in collaboration with our long-term partners, The Gin Guild, we have introducedthis dedicated producer trophy, celebrating London Dry.

The IWSC judges were impressed with the quality of The Portofino Dry Gin La Penisola, describing it as the classic London Dry showcasing the craftsmanship that goes into creating this type of gin.

The Portofino Dry Gin La Penisola special edition is an excellent example of what well-crafted London Dry Gin can and should be – it works brilliantly in a Martini and is hugely versatile for mixology.  Congratulations to the team at Pudel for creating this variation on their ultra-premium Portofino Dry Gin,” said the IWSC judges.

Olivier Ward, IWSC Sprits Judging Committee who oversaw our Gin judging added: Italy is the rising European gin market at the moment and what’semerging from the country are products that try to encompass its charm, culture and cuisine. La Penisola brings all of this together so well. It’s confident in what it is and how it goes about conveying a sense of the region, with a nod the romanticism and most of all, and an impeccable ensemble of flavours layered in a botanical sequence that captivates the senses.”

Congratulations to the team at Portofino Dry Gin on this fantastic achievement.
