This award was one that really divided opinions. The conversation by our panel of experts, comprising journalist and broadcaster David Kermode, spirits buyer Ivan Dixon and the IWSC’s Commercial Manager & Spirits Brand Ambassador, Sam Cooklin-Smith, had a lot of back and forth before a winner could be unanimously agreed. But agree they did and following last week’s announcement of our Spirits Supermarket of the Year shortlist, the IWSC is delighted to announce the 2022 winner of this award.
Focussing on offering its customers a quality shopping experience, our 2022 Spirits Supermarket of the Year is Booths.
An enviable shopping experience for customers located in Booths country – namely Cumbria, Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire - our judges recognised the great work being doing for the consumer.
Commended for its superior printed materials as well as its quality website with instructive and attractive information and recipes, it is clear this is a supermarket that cares about how it presents itself.
Supporting local distilleries across the north of England, Booths goes out of its way to personalise each store to give it a more local offer and feel.
While a smaller estate with its 27 shops, this has not prevented the buying team expanding the range by an additional 50 spirits and 30 new ready-to-drink lines.
A worthy winner and a quality supermarket. Bravo Booths.
