Bardstown Bourbon Company awarded IWSC’s 2023 Worldwide Whiskey Producer Trophy

We’re delighted to award Bardstown Bourbon Company the IWSC 2023 Worldwide Whiskey Producer Trophy, sponsored by Guala Closures.

Bardstown is located in the heart of the Bourbon capital of the world – Kentucky. Their state-of-the-art facility has the capability to produce over 50 different mashbills across the entire whiskey spectrum. Their unique and inclusive process allows their customers to create alongside them, providing both an education component and the capacity for true innovation. Bardstown has distilled for some of the best whiskey brands in the world and in 2016 they took on their first distillation.

Our judges commended Bardstown’s technical ability, noting that they are fully engaged with the trade and are able to meet their clients’ different needs, showcasing their ever-growing skillsets and expertise. They admired the experiential activities they are offering at the distillery, and as the first destination on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail® they set the standard for the modern bourbon experience. Our judges believe Bardstown are trying to fulfil a thirst within the market, they are a destination where others can go to create their own aspirations.

In 2023, Bardstown launched their first 100% estate-distilled whiskies, Origin Series. Their Origin Series Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey did exceptionally well in the IWSC’s 2023 Awards, receiving a gold medal with an impressive 98 points. Our judges praised the whiskey for its “dense, rich toffee popcorn character shines through, with complex black tea, red fruit and mint notes acting in support. The palate has wonderful depth of flavour and elegance, with a masterful balance between cask and spirit”.
