Vincenzo Arnese, a native of Naples, found his fascination with the world of wine kindled in his childhood, ignited by the flavors of his grandfather's homemade creation sampled at the age of five. This pivotal encounter set him on the path to a career in hospitality, where he specialized in sommellerie during his tenure at a respected hospitality school in Stresa, Italy. His professional journey led him across the landscapes of Switzerland, England, and Australia, beginning in 2008 at the legendary The Waterside Inn in Bray. In 2012, he moved to Melbourne, contributing his skills to esteemed establishments such as Vue de Monde, a cornerstone of Australian gastronomy. Returning to London in 2013, Vincenzo assumed the role of Head Sommelier & Wine Buyer with Heston Blumenthal, later rising to Head Sommelier at the prestigious three-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester. In 2023, Vincenzo was appointed Wine Director at Raffles London at The OWO, where he curated an exceptional wine program for Mauro Colagreco’s signature restaurants. Transitioning to the supply side of the industry in late 2025, he joined Berkmann Wine Cellars as a Prestige Sales Account Manager, a role in which he leverages his luxury hospitality background to manage high-level portfolios and foster relationships across London's most elite venues. Vincenzo is a highly credentialed professional, holding the WSET Diploma and having successfully passed the Advanced Sommelier examination with the Court of Master Sommeliers. His career is defined by a series of elite industry honors, most notably being ranked the number one sommelier in the UK for 2025 by both the Harpers Top 50 Sommeliers and the Taylor’s Port Top 100 Sommeliers lists. His further accolades include being named the GQ Food & Drink Best Sommelier in 2023, the Taittinger UK Sommelier of the Year in 2022, the runner-up of the 2019 UK Ruinart Sommelier Challenge, and the winner of the Bellavita/UKSA ‘Best Sommelier UK’ in 2015.
