Marie is a WSET educator for Sake, Spirits and Wines. She is the designated sake educator at 67 Pall Mall and teaches at a few other schools including WSET itself. She writes regularly for World Whiskey and More. She also ghost writes for a myriad of magazines.
She is on the council of the Association of Wine Educators (AWE), on the committee of the Guild of Food Writers and a member of the Circle of Wine Writers (CWW). Also a member of the Japanese Culinary Academy (London). Recently gained her Rectifier membership to the Gin Guild and is a Mousquetaire d’Armagnac.
Born in Malaysia, lived her formative years in the “Penang of Yore” (before traffic jams, high rises and bridges), then to boarding school in England. After University (Imperial College), first jobs, WSET and Le Cordon Bleu, lived for two years in Boston (USA) with her husband before returning to London. She now spends her free time with her husband and little West Highland Terrier as both children are now grown up living in London. Hobbies include flyfishing around the world and travelling with her husband - scouring markets and blending in with the local communities wherever she goes, absorbing the culture, food and drink. Otherwise one finds her tending to her little postage stamp of a kitchen garden by the River Thames.
