Having recently shared its shortlist for this year’s Wine Communicator Trophy, sponsored by Vinitaly, the IWSC is delighted to announce the winner of this prestigious accolade.
At its Awards Dinner & Industry Celebration at the iconic Roundhouse, Jane Anson was announced as the winner of the IWSC’s 2023 Wine Communicator Trophy.
Shortlisted with leading lights in the wine communication sphere, including Amanda Barnes, Mariano Braga,Natalie Wangand Rob Buckhaven, Jane Anson was the judges pick from this year’s entrants.
An incredibly well respected and established communicator, our judges really appreciated Jane’s ongoing drive to experiment with new formats in the world of communication to really share her message. Viewed as the first wine journalist to break into technology and the role that NFTs can play in communications in the future, she was described as a trial blazer.
This past year has demonstrated several breakthroughs for Jane, including the launch of her personal, paid for Inside Bordeaux website, which beautifully illustrates how she has been instrumental in evolving the Bordeaux category and bringing a much needed fresh analytical approach to what is happening in this key wine region.
Amongst one of the many reasons our judges awarded Jane this year’s title was for the work she is doing as a mentor. The Awards Dinner coincided with the visit of Jane’s mentees to Bordeaux which meant she was unable to be at the Awards Dinner in person to collect her trophy.
Congratulations to Jane and thank you to the Wine Communicator Trophy sponsor, Vinitaly.
