Green Wine Initiative

Rewarding considerate winemaking & viticulture

The IWSC’s Green Wine Initiative award was created to recognise the myriad of considerate viticulture and wine making practices underway across the world.

Highlighting the impressive work being carried out by producers already on the journey toward improving their environmental credentials.

Small or large, part of a cooperative or a one-man vintner, we want to hear from businesses of all shapes and sizes about the good work being carried out to improve your wine-making production processes, and how you are championing change. Open to all entrants to the IWSC's 2023 wine awards.

Entry criteria

Applicants will be able to provide quantitative evidence on the nature of the improvements made and can demonstrate a causal relationship between activities undertaken and improvements achieved. Visible progress to becoming a more sustainable organisation must be demonstrated. Initiatives must already be underway; it is not enough to simply demonstrate intention.

The award is open to all entrants to the IWSC's 2023 wine awards.

If you wish to be considered for this award, you must have entered the IWSC's 2023 wine awards.
