We’re delighted to award The Glenturret the IWSC 2023 Scotch Whisky Producer Trophy, sponsored by Forsyths.
The Glenturret is Scotland’s oldest working distillery, having been in operation since 1763. The whisky is crafted entirely by hand in exclusive small batches. Although their long heritage is to be marvelled, the brand understands the importance of evolving processes to make them more efficient whilst retaining their traditional values and their ‘By Hand and Heart’ ethos.
While tradition and heritage are important, the ability to innovate and experiment makes The Glenturret stand out. Our judges believe that The Glenturret is very deserving of this trophy and recognition should be given to the team revitalising and rejuvenating the traditional brand, whilst always staying true to producing credible Scotch Whisky.
The judges also praised The Glenturret’s holistic approach to their sustainability efforts. The creation of a ‘Green Team’ has made sure the brand is held accountable for its work towards sustainable and ethical business decisions. “With core values of accountability, respect, integrity, teamwork, success, customer focus and people, we demonstrate that employees are at the heart of our business and imperative to achieve our mission. Sustainability remains our priority, with employees at the centre, allowing effective action and implementation.”
The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant, is the first in-distillery fine dining concept to receive a Michelin Star globally, this accolade greatly impressed our judges, demonstrating that The Glenturret’s efforts go outside of just Scotch Whisky, showing the perfect marriage between gastronomy and Scotch.
Congratulations to The Glenturret.
