The International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) will host a unique food and wine matching session presented by Ewan Lacey (as seen on Channel 4’s Cookery School) at this years London International Wine Fair.
The tasting, which takes place at 14:00 on Thursday 24th May (Stand G25), will see a number of IWSC medal winning wines matched with popular foods and flavours including olives, smoked salmon, goat’s cheese, duck, roast beef and tarte tatin.
Ewan Lacey commented: “Food and wine matching is becoming really important for both the wine brands and consumer. We have several interesting winners paired with some favourite foods which will make for a thoroughly interesting session at the London Wine Fair”.
Lacey, noted for his appearances on Channel 4’s Cookery School, has hosted both The Wine Show and the Harvest Festival at Jimmy’s Farm. He’ll be hosting again at the BBC Good Food Show and is the in-house drinks writer for FHM Magazine. He also appears regularly on BBC Radio and is wine buyer for Jamie Oliver’s events company.
David Kelly, IWSC Group Sales and Marketing Controller commented: “Food and Wine pairing has always been a popular topic on the IWSC stand at previous wine fairs. This is another ideal opportunity to support our medal winners who gain some added promotion at such an important event for the wine trade.”
Along with the launch of the 2012 Northern Hemisphere Wine Results, the IWSC stand will also play host to a number of other exciting tastings including Tom Cannavan presenting on medal winning Lebanese wines and Lynne Sherriff MW tasting some of the IWSC’s top South African winners.
