From award-winning cocktail bars to serving fine and rare whisky at five-star hotels, Charlotte has worked in the drinks industry for over a decade. She now gets to talk about her favourite whiskies as Malts BA for Diageo, where she inspires and informs everyone she meets. Using myths, tales, and science, Charlotte brings each distillery to life through her storytelling. Her most recent adventure took her to running the whisky bar at Milroy’s of Spitalfields where she curated a menu of 1000 whiskies (which she still maintains is not enough). With the team themselves as the menu, Charlotte perfected the art of conversation to explore whisky. In tandem she worked with The Mixing Class to educate many through spirits courses for the WSET. Education and guiding people through the beginning of their whisky journey is a passion of hers. In 2021 she started running Women’s+ Whisky Night: evenings dedicated to the exploration of female+ focused brands and providing an alternative space to enjoy and learn about whisky. She endeavours to elevate those that should have a voice and champion their accomplishments. Recently she became a judge for the renowned IWSC, assessing hundreds of whiskies for medals. Above all, she seeks different flavours and will always naïvely marvel at the spectrum that can be created in whisky with such simple ingredients. Her favourite whisky is the one she’s not tried yet.
