The IWSC welcomed over 300 visitors to an exclusive spirits stand at ProWine China in Shanghai, the leading international trade fair for wines and spirits in the Chinese market. This year marked the fifth edition of the event, which was held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 14-16 November.
China’s wine and spirits market is the fastest growing in the world: last year, the fair welcomed over 650 exhibitors from 37 countries, and over 12,400 trade visitors including importers, distributors, retailers and managers. This year, the overall exhibition area grew by over 20%.
Thanks to a special partnership with ProWine China, the IWSC presented 32 award-winning spirits on an exclusive stand at the fair, where visitors had the opportunity to attend tastings conducted by Otto Lai, Keeper of the Quaich, and Angus Lugsdin of Salcombe Gin.
The world-class spirits on display ranged from gin and vodka to whisky and scotch, and included bottles from Germany, Scotland, France, England, South Africa, Sweden, Spain and Puerto Rico, the majority of which have been awarded either bronze, silver or gold medals at the IWSC.
IWSC Sales Manager Eduardo Flores, who managed the stand at the exhibition, said that the event was a huge success for the IWSC. “The ProWine organisers were highly impressed with our tastings and engagement of visitors with the IWSC”, he said.
