We’re delighted to award Double Dutch Drinks the IWSC 2023 Mixer Producer Trophy.

Twin sisters Joyce and Raissa De Haas were born and raised in the Netherlands and grew up around a world of innovative drinks. They soon realised that whilst alcoholic drinks had become more vibrant and diverse than ever, the world of tonics and mixers had scarcely changed. In response to this, they began experimenting at university, setting themselves the challenge of shaking up the mixer market. And that they have done!

Our judges were greatly impressed by the amount this brand has been able to achieve in just 7 short years. The product range is of the highest quality and innovates to bring new styles of mixers and flavour combinations to market. The quality of their mixers was evident at the 2023 IWSC Awards when the brand took home numerous medals, their Indian Tonic Water was awarded a gold medal, with judges praising “the harmonious and well-balanced Tonic Water offering a pleasing citrus flavour profile and attractive bitter notes from a considered use of quinine. There is an elegant carbonation to the palate, a wonderful example of its kind.”

The pair seem adept at spotting trends before they take off: their Pink Grapefruit Soda – primed for inclusion in a hassle-free Paloma – hit the market just as the cocktail began to dominate the summer months. They are constantly adapting to market trends, recognising the potential of flavour and ensuring all their mixers can be enjoyed without alcohol, to meet the needs of the rising number of no-low consumers, a key evolution in customer profile.

The company is also focused on their sustainability efforts, they are fully carbon neutral and actively pursuing B Corp status, which our judges commended this impressive achievement for such a young brand.

Also making it their mission to support like-minded women in the drinks business, with a female bartender scholarship in place to help women starting out in what is still a male-dominated space. Our judges saw the passion the company has for the industry and the drive to support others.

Congratulations to Double Dutch Drinks.
