The Istituto Regionale della Vite e del Vino are proud sponsors of the IWSC Italian Wine Producer of the Year for the second year.

After the three big Italian wine producing regions of Veneto, Piemonte and Tuscany, Michele Shah (IWSC Italian Agent) comments that “the new star to seriously follow is Sicily”. She continues; “finally Sicilian producers have the support they need, the Istituto della Vite e del Vino headed by its creative and dynamic Managing Director Dario Cartabellotta is sailing on the right course to assist producers in research and promotion”.

Dr. Dario Cartabellotta of the Istituto Regionale della Vite e del Vino states; "Sicily can produce excellent wines and it is time we Sicilians boost our image to match the quality of the wines we are producing. The sponsorship of the prestigious IWSC Italian Wine Producer Trophy is an important step for us and represents one of the important choices we have taken to achieve this new drive."

In the last few years Sicilian wines have leapt in terms of producing quality wines made with their own unique indigenous varietals, offering a range of diversity, with wines that express elegance, harmony and “drinkability”.
