Two of the most entertaining men in wine are teaming up for the first time next week, and you can see them in action at the London Wine Fair.
Joe Fattorini and Joe Wadsack will present an exclusive tasting on the IWSC stand titled ‘Wines for not your ordinary Joe?’, where each will present four wines of their choice.
The pair have never appeared together before. Two born communicators, “the Joes” are well-known for their engaging and accessible approaches to wine. They enjoy successful TV careers – Fattorini is a presenter on ITV’s The Wine Show, and Wadsack on BBC Food and Drink – and are both past recipients of the IWSC Wine Communicator of the Year award.
Joe Wadsack said “Surely one of the points of competitions like this is to discover wines you’ve never had, and to have the courage to try them. At least when you taste, let’s say, a silver medal amber qvevri wine from Georgia, you know it’s a good one.”
“Over the past 13 years or so, since I won the Wine Communicator of the Year award the first time, doing the IWSC talks has been a fun highlight for me each year at the London Wine Fair. I get to taste great wine and meet interesting and interested people.”
Other highlights at the IWSC stand include a debate on natural wines between Neil McGuigan (McGuigan Wines) and Doug Wregg (Caves de Pyrene), a seminar on the explosion of gins from IWSC judge David T. Smith, and a presentation of ‘Old Golds’: award-winning wines from previous years of the IWSC.
‘Wines for not your ordinary Joe?’ will take place at 11am on Wednesday 23 May on the IWSC stand (E40) at the London Wine Fair. Read the IWSC’s full timetable of events here.
