Vodka

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Since 2020 we have seen an almost 50% increase in vodka entrants.

Vodka is a fast-evolving category with a huge potential. In 2023, the category put on an impressive performance at IWSC Spirits Awards, with 7 Gold Outstanding awards, as well as 19 gold, 86 silver and 64 bronze medals awarded to vodka entries.

IWSC Vodka Awards

In recent years the Vodka category has seen a spike in terms of both quality and diversity of entries, with a dazzling range of drinks submitted for IWSC awards: from traditional unflavoured spirits to flavoured and botanical vodkas. Vodka is certainly a category that is pushing the boundaries – and we are excited to witness its evolution.

Vodka & tonic awards

We're looking for the world's best vodka & tonic...

A specialist judging panel will assess how well each vodka (or low or lighter alcohol alternative) pairs with Franklin & Sons Tonic Water.

The vodka & tonic will comprise one part vodka to three parts tonic; no ice or garnish is used, and the drink will be tasted blind.

Entry into the Mixer add-on Awards is £139 per vodka.

In 2023 we've had possibly the most Gold Outstandings we’ve ever awarded to vodkas. A lot of these winners are vodkas where they have the right balance between character coming through from the base material that the vodka is made from and the pureness and the neutrality that you would typically expect from vodka.
