An award-winning, ultra-premium vodka from Sweden is a key sponsor of the IWSC’s Annual Awards Banquet this year, where it will take pride of place in an impressive centrepiece ice sculpture.
Purity Vodka is made exclusively from natural ingredients at the 13th century Ellinge Castle in the south of Sweden by multi-awarded master blender Thomas Kuuttanen. It is distilled 34 times to ensure natural flavours and character, and has been certified organic in both Europe and the US.
Purity Vodka 51 has won the IWSC’s coveted Vodka Trophy 2017, while Purity Vodka Organic was also awarded Gold Outstanding this year. Judges remarked that Purity Vodka 51 was ‘exceptionally clean on the palate with a great balance of flavour’, while Purity Vodka Organic had ‘a very fine and neutral character’. The brand has also enjoyed past successes in the competition, achieving a Gold Outstanding for Purity Gin in 2016.
Purity Vodka 34, which has been awarded Silver Outstanding this year, will be available for spirits tasting at the IWSC Awards Banquet tomorrow (15 November), at the Guildhall in the heart of the City of London. The judges described the spirit as ‘an undeniably fruity vodka, with plump, luscious, and bright notes of berries and a gentle sweetness. . . This is a fun and accessible spirit’.
The IWSC seeks to award excellence to the finest wines and spirits worldwide, encouraging recognition for quality products. The competition receives entries from nearly 90 countries, which are judged by over 400 global experts in the IWSC’s dedicated tasting premises, and the year-long campaign culminates in the prestigious Awards Banquet, where the trophy winners are unveiled.
This year for the first time, the Banquet will be livestreamed on Facebook. The livestream is scheduled to begin at 8:15pm GMT on Wednesday 15 November; users can be notified when it begins by liking the IWSC Facebook page. The timetable for the evening can also be downloaded here.
